How To Properly Care For Your Hair:

1. Brushing Before Washing: Always detangle your extensions gently with a specialized extension brush like caprindi wet to dry brush before washing. Start from the ends first and work your way up to the roots to prevent tugging and damage. Be careful not snap your hair.
2. Shampooing: We recommend caprindi hydrating shampoo or a sulfate-free and paraben-free hydrating shampoo designed for extensions/dry hair ensuring there is no protien keratin or other hidden reconstructing ingredients which can damage the hair.
3. Conditioning: We recommeend applying caprindi hydrating mask or a moisturizing conditioner specific for extensions to the mid-lengths and ends of the extensions, avoiding the roots only if you have tape extensions. Caprindi hydrating mask can also be used as a intense hydrating treatment by allowing additional time of application - up to 15mins every 2 weeks to hydrate deep into the hair shaft. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
4. Detangling After Washing: Gently squeeze out excess water from the extensions with a towel. Always apply a leave in treatment to keep your extensions hydrated after every wash. We recommend a small amount of caprindi leave in treatment to the midlengths and ends avoiding the roots if you have tape extensions. Detangle the hair using caprindi brush, starting from the ends and working your way up.
5. Drying: Whenever possible, allow the extensions to air dry. If you need to use heat styling tools, apply a heat protectant spray before styling and use a low heat setting to minimize damage. Heat poses the greatest risk of damage to your extensions. Using hot tongs, straighteners, and hairdryers above 180°c can cause your extensions to become brittle from overdrying. When wearing tape-in extensions, it's important to avoid applying heat directly to the roots to maintain their integrity and prevent them from slipping.
6. Sleeping: Before going to bed ensure your hair is 100% dry, loosely braid your hair to prevent tangling while you sleep. Or use the overnight curl system. A silk or satin pillowcase can also help reduce friction and maintain the smoothness of the extensions.
7. Avoiding Harsh Products: Refrain from using products containing alcohol, oil, or silicone near the roots or bonds of the extensions, as these can weaken the tapes and cause tangling or slippage.
8. Regular Maintenance: Schedule regular appointments with your stylist for maintenance every 4-7 weeks depending on the type of extensions you have to avoid matting to your natural hair. This may involve repositioning or replacing the extensions to keep them looking natural and to protect your natural hair.
9. Swimming and Exercise: We do not recommend swimming in saltwater or chlorinated pools as these can dry out the extensions. If you do swim, wear a swim cap to protect your hair and rinse thoroughly with clean water afterward. Apply a leave-in conditioner to restore moisture.
10. Styling: By following these detailed care instructions, you can ensure that your hair extensions stay healthy, beautiful, and long-lasting.
